NOW CLOSED; former dedicated parking area for cargo vehicles visiting the Heathrow cargo estates

The trial period for the Heathrow Cargo Truck Parking Facility concluded on 21 August 2025.

The site is no longer in operation.

The trial began on 21 May 2025 with the aim of evaluating the potential impact of a Truck Parking Facility on landside operational efficiency. During the three-month period, comprehensive data was gathered to support the development of a possible long-term solution and to establish the facility’s function within the broader landside process.

We are now looking into how we can deliver an effective proposition that benefits the whole cargo community at Heathrow.

The cargo truck parking area near Heathrow’s cargo estate was located at the end of Scylla Road, next to Terminal 4's Park & Ride. Open 24/7 and signposted as “Cargo Truck Parking Facility,” it accommodated vehicles up to 16.5 meters and offered a welfare room for drivers needing rest before or between pickups and drop-offs.
The Trial was operated for 3-months between 21 May and 21 August 2025 (inclusive).
The trial was designed to understand how a cargo truck parking facility could impact landside efficiency and gain insight into how long-term facility could be shaped and operated.
At present, there are no plans to re-open the trial.
We are currently in the early stages of planning the long-term proposition, which could include rapid EV charging bays for public use, a community accessible Truck Parking facility, and a welfare/ food and beverage offering.
 
We cannot guarantee that long-term facility will be available or timeframes associated with this.
